Very comfortable mouse for small hands!

Being a woman with small hands, I found this to be the PERFECT size for me, and the ergonomic shape is a bonus. It is absolutely THE most comfortable mouse I've ever had. I bought it for use with my desktop computer and wasn't surprised to find that the cable is too short--so I'll need an extender. I'm considering buying one with my own money to take into work--that's how much I like it!

    If you're looking for

    a) a gaming mouse,
    b) a mouse with all the latest doo-dads (hyperscroll, microscroll, side buttons, etc.),
    c) a standard-sized desktop mouse,
    d) a supersmall portable notebook mouse,
    e) a mouse with a greater than 2 foot USB cable attachment,
    f) a mouse that will connect to a computer whose USB port is more than 2 feet away from your mousing hand,
    g) a cordless, wireless mouse,
    h) highly contoured, right-hand specific mouse,

THEN THIS IS NOT THE MOUSE FOR YOU.

This mouse has: left mouse button, right mouse button, side-tilting scroll wheel which is also a third button that can be pushed down to activate zoom. That's it.

I use this mouse with my notebook which I use as my main computer. The notebook is on a rolling shelf which extends from a tiny, cramped armoire. The short cable is perfect for me and I don't mind it at all, although I am fortunate in that the USB ports on my notebook are on the side on which I mouse. A longer cable would only get in the way.

Side buttons (forward, back) would've been great, but I tried other models that had this feature and they were all bad fits for me. I ended up returning an MX400 for instance (Amazon is great about returns).

The scroll wheel is the best of the Logitech line as far as I'm concerned. It feels high quality and doesn't require excessive pressure to activate the zoom. I personally love the side tilt scroll on the wheel and use it all the time. I had a lot of trouble activating scroll-wheel zoom on the MX400.

This mouse feels just great in my hand. It has a narrower "waist" just below the middle that I find really comfortable to hold. The size is also perfect for me. I use a "claw" style hold on my mouse rather than moving my whole arm. My hands are pretty large but I actually prefer this size mouse to the standard sized desktop mouse. I find the smaller size gives me greater control with less effort.

It's not one of those tiny ultraportable notebook mice though, so that might be a concern for some. I personally have no difficulty sticking this mouse into my laptop bag and toting it around with me.

I've had it for about a month but so far, no issues. It's been very durable and consistent so far. Of course, I'm not a gamer, I use this for working in Word, Excel, Firefox, Acrobat, and that's about it.

Best of all, it's cheap, so I won't feel bad if it somehow gets damaged. The other expensive, fancypants mice all seem to have issues over time. The wireless signal cuts out, the hyperscroll wheel stops spinning freely due to crud buildup, the buttons are hard to activate or wear out over time, etc. I'm speaking from both experience and reading the forums over at Logitech as well as other Amazon reviews.

Great mouse, after lots of research and searching, I think this is the mouse for me, and maybe for you too.
    No wrist/arm pain

I have replaced my larger mouse with this smaller easy to use mouse. I had arm and wrist pain with the larger mouse (even with a wrist pad), but with this smaller mouse, my arm stays more level and my pain has virtually gone away. I have ordered 2 more, one for my office and one for home.
    The OPTICAL mouse is amazing!

Very light, and I like the idea of clicking on the scroll button and it just goes up and down pages real quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Not sure how to use the zoom on things though. Some things, I couldn't get back to their original size. Other than that, I love this mouse! It's not just a mouse! Try it!
